I'm in love.
With a man named Willy Braun, the lead singer of Reckless Kelly(which, you've got to admit is a pretty freaking cool name for a band, isn't it?)
A few months ago I wrote a post about my struggles to find good music, and my wonderful friends Melissa and Danny put together a five disc buffett of alt-country goodness starting me off on an oddyssey that's made my
Anyway, they're fun, they're rowdy, and I wish they'd play a gig out here in Vegas.

I've been in Indianapolis all week or I would have responded sooner!!!!!!
I.LOVE.RECKLESSKELLY.
I will fight you for the love of Willie Braun!!!!! --and my husband will have my back! (I'm not sure what that means, but it's true!)
For all of you who now love and appreciate Willie Braun and Reckless Kelly, you should check out Mickey and the Motorcars! --Willie's *almost* equally hot and talented brother and his band.
I love me some Braun brothers.
~sigh~
oh, wait . Have I been spelling his name wrong?? Is it Willy and not Willie? You might have just won point, Maurs. But my grandfather's name was "Willie" (no, not William). AND he was from Idaho. Do I get double triple points?? I think we must get back stage passes with Carren to be sure.
Oh, how we, together, need to go to a Bran Family Reunion Show in Idaho to be sure!!! Let's go to the source.
And, by the way, we are now listening to "Maury's Mix." It is a good 5 CDs, if we do say so ourselves. :)
Love you.
And for all you Lowe's out there, I just formally introduced my husband to all of your blogs. Here in W.Va., we love us some Brauns and some Lowes.
Well, well, well, yet another Reckless Kelly fan among us. Come on in Maurs the water's fine.
I would like to second what Melissa has added, check out the brothers band, very good stuff.
Maybe we can meet in my old stomping ground of Texas and go to a show at Gruene Hall ( http://www.gruenehall.com ) which happens to be the first place I saw Reckless in 2005.
Anyway, hope you continue to find more Texas bands to add to your playlist.
Oh, and by the way... FREE BILLY JOE!!!
Welcome to the Lowe's Danny. And, Gruene Hall? The home of Jerry Jeff Walker's "Live From Gruene Hall"? Um, yeah. I think that's a must. 'Specially since Reckless doesn't get out here....sad really.
And Meliss,
Yes. It's spelled Willy. I looked it up to be sure. I wanted it to be Willie like Willie Nelson, but he's a y man (like I'm a y woman).
Plus, you've already got a man. Hands off!! He He He.
You're right. You both have "y"s in your name. I should have seen it sooner. You win. I wish you much happiness and rockin' music in your life together.
